Art Direction in Audiovisuals and Lighting

Cynthia González D´Agostino (freelance)

Graduate in Audiovisual Communication from the UCM. She is a designer of audiovisual and lighting installations. A specialist in videomapping and lighting programming, he works on the creative development of audiovisual content for exhibition spaces, researching the construction of hybrid installations that break the boundaries between the material and the digital.

She teaches workshops both at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UCM, Fundación Telefónica, and at the ETSAM (where she has been project director in the Master "Efímeras") and classes in audiovisual narrative at the international photography center EFTI in Madrid. He collaborates with the education department of the Thyssen Museum in its Musaraña project, where he develops the creative learning systems workshop “The light takes the floor.” This museum also invited her to participate in the Art Lesson exhibition, where her work could be seen alongside those of artists such as Olafur Eliasson, Antoni Muntadas or Rineke Dijkstra. In addition, he regularly collaborates with the Prado Museum where he has developed, among others, a tour for children that explains the theories of light and color through works from the collection and a workshop aimed at vulnerable groups.

His creative work has been recognized in international festivals such as the “Gerona Videomapping Festival” where a jury of more than 10 international professionals from the sector recognized in his FAKE project “a creative contribution to the search for new forms of communication through technology".

He took his first professional steps at the production company Lola Films (where he worked on projects by, among others, John Malkovich, Julian Schnabel, Bigas Luna and Fernando Trueba).

Pioneer of video art in the Madrid clubs of the nineties The Room and Soma Experimental Club. In 2005 she was personally selected by artist Michel Gondry for an experimental video workshop at the London Film School.

Between 2004 and 2009 he directed the Audiovisuals of the Photoespaña Festival of Photography and Visual Arts. Later he developed the same work as a freelance in the most relevant exhibitions of new technologies held in our country such as “Feedback”, “Game World”, “Máquinas y Almas”, “Premios Vida” and has collaborated in the works of national and international artists. internationals such as Daniel Canogar, Jaume Plensa or AtomEgoyan.

In 2010, together with Inés Vila, he founded WotStudio, a creative space that develops, researches, and searches for new audiovisual and graphic codes.

In 2021 he participates in the founding of the CURIOSA project focused on the creation of digital content where he is responsible for the innovation department. The different training of its members means that their diverse points of view are nourished and mixed in favor of unique results. Together with this team he has created projects that have traveled around the world.
